What also happens during Quiet Mode is that when another person sends you a DM, they will get an automatic reply. The message would explain that you, as the person who enabled Quiet Mode, will not receive DMs until you disable it.
Once you turn off Quiet Mode, you will receive information from Instagram about everything you missed while having this distraction-free mode turned on.
How to Use Quiet Mode on Instagram
Using Quiet Mode is fairly simple. Here are the steps for turning it on and off:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone
- Tap on your profile picture in the bottom-right of the screen
- From your profile page, tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right of the screen
- Tap on Settings and privacy in the menu that pops up
- Tap on Notifications
- Tap on Quiet mode and enable it
Protip: While enabling Quiet Mode, you can adjust the Start Time, End Time, and days during which Quiet Mode will be enabled.
Note: Quiet Mode can be enabled for up to 12 hours per day.
