Stories has been one of the most popular and successful features that Instagram has added to the app in recent years.
Designed to let users show short clips that highlight their day's activities, Instagram Stories has become much more than that. People post teaser clips for longer videos in their feeds, memes, and funny clips they've found, and even Q-and-A sessions with their followers in their Story. They can enhance their videos with in-app filters, music, and other goodies, too.
One key element of IG Stories makes it unique: the videos posted there only remain visible for 24 hours. Once that time has passed, the clips disappear and can't be seen anywhere again.
The idea, of course, is to let each user document a new day with new videos. However, the short window of availability can also be extremely frustrating.
Even if a Stories clip becomes extremely popular, it can't be seen or shown to anyone else after the 24 hours that it's live; like all videos on Instagram, there's no ability to download the clip and it vanishes forever the next day.
And since all of the effects added to a Story are inserted after the raw video has been uploaded, the creator has no way to save the finished product to use it again or show it off to friends.

Downloading a video from a website or app requires places an additional load on the site's servers. That's not a big deal when one person downloads one video. But when many of IG's two billion users are all downloading videos at the same time, the additional server load is enormous and would require Instagram to add thousands of new servers and huge amounts of extra cloud storage to accommodate everyone wanting to save videos.
That would be extremely costly; the company saves a lot of money by not allowing downloads. Buzzoid, however, doesn't have to deal with billions of users downloading content. The entire issue of ownership and copyright has plagued the Internet since its early days. The person who creates a video owns the content and its copyright unless they sign it over to another party. When a video is uploaded to Instagram, the creator still owns both; Instagram doesn't own content or its copyright just because it hosts the video.
That could create problems if a user downloads content from the Gram and then claims that they own it.
