It requires hundreds of thousands of servers to run Twitter (or any social media app,
for that matter). When a user downloads a video, that only uses a small amount of
computing power – but if hundreds of millions are all downloading at once, that creates
a much greater load on the system. Twitter would have to add many more servers and much
more cloud storage to accommodate all of the users wanting to save videos from the app.
Needless to say, that’s an expense Twitter doesn’t want to add, particularly with a
new, cost-conscious owner. At Buzzoid, though, we don’t have millions of people using
our download tool at the same time, and it doesn’t require a large additional
expenditure on our part. We’re pleased to be able to facilitate the downloading of
Twitter videos for free, for all visitors.
