Twitter, now officially known as “X,” is the social media platform of choice for countless media outlets, political figures, professionals, celebrities, and influencers. Since there would be both a financial cost and potential legal liability if Twitter were to allow users to save videos from the app, it’s clear why Twitter won’t allow downloads. That may be one of the most frustrating issues that users of the app face on a daily basis.

First, find the URL of the Twitter post containing the video you want to download.
Click the share icon at the bottom right corner of the tweet containing the video and choose “Copy Link.”
Next, paste the link into the box at the top of this page.
A new window will open with the video(s) contained in the tweet. If you don’t see videos, the Twitter account is probably set to “private” and the video isn’t available.
Finally, select your video for download.
If there’s more than one video, choose the one you want. Then click “download” and your video will be saved to your device or computer in MP4 format. It couldn’t be simpler!
